reflux or not???

Ruby Belle has been spitting up A LOT. and is VERY fussy after eating...for like hours sometimes! :) i've ignored it for a month...thinking she's just a newborn and is figuring it all out and her digestive system is new. i was trying to convince myself she didn't have reflux and/or was colicky. well, i got VERY tired of listening to her scream, whine, kick, spit up, etc. and look miserable and finally made a doctor's appointment (why i didn't talk to him about this in the 3 appointments we've already had...who knows?!) so, we just got back and we think she has reflux. so, we started her on Zantac today and i'm praying it works!! not that i want my kiddo to have reflux, but i want answers and something to make her feel better! (and i am desperately hoping she isn't colicky!) this face is too cute to listen to her scream and cry any longer!

she's mad t me for letting her suffer through 1 month of reflux

now she's happy! :)

OH she's so cute! I'm sorry you've been suffering through reflux or colick. No fun! The pictures were centered when I saw them.

do you know how to center the captions?

Mandy, Ashby had reflux and was on Prevacid for it for a couple of months. If it got REALLY bad and he wouldn't eat we gave him Maalox. Once he got on solids I stopped all the medicine. I hope she feel better! (and you, too)!

To center the captions, before you type go up to the bar that has the other options (like bold, italic, etc) and you should see the button that lets you center the type. It's three lines that look centered in between the right and left justified buttons.

wow, sarah...thanks. i didn't have that option and for whatever illiterate reason, i couldn't figure out how to get it back...but i did. thanks. now i can get back to posting normal...i was using the "edit html" version.

anyway, refulx sucks. right?! ugh! ruby belle will eat (i think it makes her throat feel better while eating) so that's not the issue. did you like the prevacid? we're doing Zantac right now...seeing some improvement so far. i can't wait for her to outgrow this!

We didn't start him on Prevacid until he was 3 months old and stopped eating one day and then stopped at 6 months. I believe they gave him Prevacid because we were kind of late in figuring out the problem and they didn't want to "try" some of the others on him - just went straight to what they knew worked. All of the reflux meds have a different purpose. Prevacid turns off the "pumps" in the stomach that produce acid. Some of the others neutralize the acid - just depends. She'll out grow it before you know it.

I guess I didn't have an opinion about the prevacid since we never had a repeat of the eating strike he went on, but he was just kind of a fussy/grumpy baby by nature so it didn't change that :)

I love that first picture! She's got pretty strong facial expressions for such a little bit!
